I usually judge how great a book is by how hard it is to put down once you start reading it. I thought this book was very very good because, even though it wasn't a shorter length book, I still read it all in one sitting. Before I knew it I was so wrapped up in this masterfully told story that I soon found myself on the edge of the seat, echoing one of the characters in the book when he would ask "What happened next?"The story follows a mother and daughter from two different generations. The mother is trying to deal with feelings caused by the threat of her past resurfacing and the memories that she kept hidden from her family for years. Finding a good place to heal and put down new roots, the daughter tries to forge a new life for herself and her family while she recovers from life's unexpected twists.
It's a clean book with a little bit of everything tossed in. I definitely recommend reading it to add a bit of mystery, intrigue, and of course romance into your afternoon. I loved reading the therapist sessions. It does end with a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed the story and flow of the story

When you grow up feeling worthless, you try to overcome it. But when your daughter moves to the town you got away from it gets interesting.
This one was off so slow to get into. Seem to take forever until it finally got to the present day and I began to be quite exciting. I ordinarily like Jennifer Youngblood she's one of my favorite and I was a little disappointed that it didn't make me want to turn the pages right away. But I still read her books I love them clean .
Loved the story line and the writing
This was a new author for me. The story is so involved and you needed to be able to shift form present to past and back again. It was a surprise to find the story continues in another book.
Another wonderful set of stories by a prolific mother-daughter team (or is it daughter-mother?) whose books cover quite a range of topics. Some of their stories challenge my senses because the characters suffer injustices at the hands of those who should be most-trusted but, thankfully, there are heroes to redeem them by series' ends. The plot twists are intriguing and breathtaking, and have always been well worth my time and money to read.
Oh, my! I love so many things about this book -- the southern flair, the family secrets, the suspense, but most of all the heart of it. These authors are some of my favorites and I would highly recommend anything they write.
